Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music, and art programs are all about helping students to be creative and showcase their talents.
At Mitchells Island Public School we are super lucky to have Mr Mander, our talented music teacher, who helps students learn new musical skills to share in the awesome Creative Arts or Musical Performance showcases.
Representative Sporting Opportunities
Students have the opportunity to take part in a range of sports like athletics, cross country, and swimming to represent our school.
Our small schools relay team has been super successful, reaching the state finals in both swimming and athletics!
Trips and excursions
Our students love getting out of the classroom to explore, learn new things, and take on exciting challenges. These adventures help them grow, build confidence, and show how what they learn at school connects to the real world around them.
Students in Years 3 to 6 get the amazing chance to go on overnight excursions each year to cool places like Sydney, Canberra, and Dubbo. On these trips, they explore new sights, try fun activities, and experience things they wouldn’t usually get to do at school. It’s a great way to make memories, learn more, and see how their studies come to life outside the classroom.
